library offers another book club for mystery lovers
BELLEFONTE (September 7th, 2023) —Has September got you feeling more academic? Are you entirely too excited for Halloween? If your answer to either of these questions is yes, you may want to check out the new Booked for Murder book club at Centre County Library—Bellefonte. The group meets monthly to discuss a mystery novel chosen by Assistant Branch Manager, Ashley Hoover.
“I wanted to bring back an in-person book club that would be different from our current virtual book group,” says Ashley. “I sent out a poll to former evening book group attendees asking what genre specific book club they'd like to see here in Bellefonte. The overwhelming response was a Mystery Book Club. As an avid mystery reader myself, I was thrilled!”
This month, Booked for Murder will meet on September 28th at 6 PM to discuss the novel If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio. Copies of the book can be picked up at Centre County Library—Bellefonte.
Booked for Murder is a program designed to elevate individuals’ Basic Literacy and Civic and Social Literacy skills as described by PA Forward®. This means that participating in Booked for Murder will give Centre County citizens an opportunity to develop their life-long reading skills and to remain engaged with the community.
