2015 Young Author & Illustrator Contest

Announcing the 30th Annual Young Author and Illustrator Contest

Become a published author or illustrator!

First through Sixth graders in Centre County may submit stories of their own creation to the Young Author/Illustrator Contest. Entries will be read and judged by community leaders and Library youth services staff. Each grade will be judged against all other participants in that grade level. Stories are selected based on originality, creativity, content, grammar, punctuation and spelling.

3 winners, and 2 honorable mentions, from each grade level will be chosen and first place winning books will be bound as a hardback book, which will stay in the library’s permanent collection!

With our partner organization the Center for American Literary Studies at Penn State, we are proud to announce an exciting literary journey culminating with an appearance by Jess Walter at the Penn State HUB on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.
