Centre Gives 36-Hour Giving Event

Centre County Library & Historical Museum will participate in CentreGives,
a 36-hour online giving event sponsored by Centre Foundation!


From 6 am Tuesday, May 5, to 6 pm Wednesday, May 6, donors can visit  CentreGives.org to help Centre County Library raise funds that will further our mission of promoting literacy throughout our community. 

Your gift will support programs such as Summer Reading, children's storytimes, technology training and adult programs that serve communities across Central Pennsylvania all year...

Young Author & Illustrator Winners Announced!

The Winners of the 2015 Young Author and Illustrator Contest have been chosen!

Congratulations to all who participated!

It was a difficult decision to make, but the winners have been chosen and contacted,  All are welcome to attend the award ceremony , so please Help Honor the Winners on Wednesday, May 6th from 6-7pm at the Bellefonte High School Auditorium.

Author Visit and Book Signing!

Join us in welcoming Mary Devlin Lynch and Debbie Devlin Zook to Centre County Library on Saturday, May 9 from 1-3pm!

Don't miss your chance to meet these Bellefonte-native self-published authors working on their 9th book, and "home" for a special book signing and speaking hour complete with door prizes!  They'll have books available for purchase so you can have your copies signed, and they'll answer all your questions and discuss their books.

Our 30th Annual Young Author and Illustrator Contest

Become a published author or illustrator!

First through Sixth graders in Centre County may submit stories of their own creation to the Young Author/Illustrator Contest. Entries will be read and judged by community leaders and Library youth services staff. Each grade will be judged against all other participants in that grade level. Stories are selected based on originality, creativity, content, grammar, punctuation and spelling.

3 winners, and 2 honorable mentions, from each grade level will be chosen and first place winning books will be bound as a hardback book, which will stay in the library’s...
