2014 is a big year for Centre County Library! 

The historic Miles-Humes home  (location of our Historical Museum) is 200 years old this year and the library is celebrating its 75th birthday.

To kick off an exciting season of anniversaries here at Centre County Library, we're hosting a live auction event to celebrate art, literacy, and the communities we've been lucky enough to serve since 1939.

The Centre County Library & Historical Museum located in Victorian Bellefonte, minutes from Penn State University and State College, is seeking an energetic and team focused Historical Collections Manager for the library's genealogical branch and small museum.

Thank you to all of our Young Author and Illustrator participants! All entries were submitted and our community judges completed the workshop to determine the winners for this year. All winning entry participants have been notified by mail that their story has placed and they have been invited to the award ceremony to be held at the Bellefonte High School Auditorium on April 30th from 6:00-7:00pm.

The Award Ceremony will feature local author Mary Beth Bamat as our guest speaker. Each winning story creators (authors and illustrators) will receive a medal and certificate for participating in the program. 1st place winners will have their story bound in a hardback book to be kept in your local...

PA One Book, Every Young Child


For the ninth consecutive year, Pennsylvania's One Book, Every Young Child program will lead the way and highlight the importance of early literacy development in preschoolers ages 3 to 6. In its inaugural year, the One Book, Every Young Child program won the coveted, national John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Award.
