Mother Goose on the Loose is an award winning early literacy program for children from birth to three with their parents or caregivers. Mother Goose on the Loose uses a variety of activities such as rhymes, songs, puppets, and instruments to foster speech development, motor coordination, confidence, and sensitivity to others.

The Centre County Library Hooks and Needles are a group of knitters, crocheters, and crafty people who meet once a week to share their projects, knowledge, and enthusiasm for fiber arts.  They have worked on several charitable projects, including patchwork lap blankets out of knitted or crocheted 8x8in squares for the Alzheimer's ward at Centre Crest, and 4x7in prayer patches for soldiers overseas to carry with them.  Hooks and Needles meets every Thursday from 1:00-2:30 in the Centre County Library in Bellefonte.

Are you interested in astronomy?  Penn State is going to the moon.  Meet members of the Lunar Lion team, Penn State's entry in the Google Lunar X Prize competition.  This competition aims to begin a new era of lunar exploration.  The Luner Lion Team is competing against other teams to safely land a robot on the surface of the Moon. 

  Come to this program and ask members of team your questions about rockets, space travel, and their efforts to land a robot on the surface of the moon.

 

This program is for children ages 4 and up.

Thursday - Bellefonte - Animal Adaptations with Shaver's Creek- Elementary Summer Reading Program

Join us as we welcome Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center to the library.  They will present their traveling naturalist program about animal adaptations.  Come and see the toad, snake, and turtle the naturalist will be brining and learn about how animals adapt to their surroundings.

 

This program is for children ages 4 and up.
