Get Ready to Read!  This year’s Children’s Summer Reading Program will begin on Thursday, June 21st at the Centre County Library.  This year’s themes will focus on night and the theme is Dream Big Read. 

Wednesday - Bellefonte - Birds of Prey with Shaver's Creek Environmental Center a Summer Reading Presentation

Join us as we welcome Shaver's Creek Environmental Center to the Library.  They will present their Birds of Prey Program which features four raptors.  Raptors are birds that use their keen senses, especially their sense of  vision to hunt for their prey.

This presentation will also discuss birds who have adaptations that allow them to stay up all night. 

This program is for children ages 4+

Nutrition Program: Hungry & Overweight: How Is It Possible?

 A community presentation supported by a mini-grant from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, this interactive presentation will focus on the impact of poverty and food insecurity, and how children can be both hungry and overweight at the same time. The session will explore the effects of hunger and overweight on children and identify ways that people in the community can help address the problem.
