Historical Museum
The Pennsylvania Room of the Centre County Library and Historical Museum is located in the historic
Miles-Humes home at 203 North Allegheny Street in Bellefonte. It focuses on Centre County and Pennsylvania history and genealogy and has a specialized collection of genealogies, county histories, church and cemetery records, original Centre County records, newspapers, and historical and genealogical periodicals.
We are also home to the Spangler Collection, an indexed collection of records on many families of central Pennsylvania. See "PA Room Collection" for a more detailed description of the holdings.
In the same building is a historical museum featuring documents, photographs, family memorabilia, and other items of interest to family and local historians. Staff are available to assist genealogical and historical researchers, and to provide tours (free) of the museum..
