The Centre County Library provides outreach opportunities throughout Centre County.

Every other Tuesday afternoon the Outreach Service Coordinator visits the Mountain Top Youth Center to offer a "book-to-movie club" for the school-aged children who utilize the center after school. The Outreach Service Coordinator offers the children a choice of age-appropriate books that have been adapted into a major motion picture; once the children agree on a book the Outreach Service Coordinator works through reading the book to the children at each thirty-minute visit. Many of the children are excited to check a copy of the chosen book out from their school library to read along or read ahead on their own--many of the chosen books are on the "reading counts" list for the students, because of this, the children are enthusiastic about listening and then re-reading the book to take the book quizzes. Once the Outreach Service Coordinator has finished reading the book to the children, the center holds a "movie night" where the film version of the book is shown and a discussion of the book verses the movie takes place.

The Mountain Top Youth Center also features a wireless hot-spot provided by the library, and in the future will have two public access computers for use by the public, also provided by the library.

Additional outreach opportunites occur through various storytimes and learning opportunites at day cares and schools throughout the county, and technology classes at the county's senior centers once a month.
