Young Author Contest

What is the Young Author Contest?

First through Sixth graders in Centre County may submit books of their own creation to the Young Author/Illustrator Contest.

Holiday Hours

Dec 12 - Jan 2

The Centre County Libraries including the Historical Museum and PA Room will be closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Dec 24th - 26th, as well as Saturday and Sunday, Dec 31st and Jan 1st.

All branches will close at 5pm; Dec 19th - Dec 30th.

Centre Hall, East Penns Valley and Holt will open at noon; Dec 19th - Dec 30th.

The Museum and Pa Room will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Dec 22nd and 23rd.

All Locations are closed on Sundays.

East Penns Valley is closed on Wednesdays.

Centre Hall is closed on Tuesdays.

Requesting an exam proctor

Centre County Library provides proctoring services with a charge of $15 per exam. In addition, if the exam must be returned by mail or fax, the student is responsible for any fees incurred. Faxing will be a charge of $.50 per page. If there are any special services or computer programs required for the exam, please inform the library at time of registration. To request a proctor, please fill out the following form.

Interlibrary Loan

Can't find a book? We can get it for you from another library through Interlibrary Loan! Any item published more than 6 months ago and not owned by our libraries may be requested through interlibrary loan. (Items that have been released for less than 6 months can not be requested through interlibrary loan because they are deemed "too new" to loan.) The item will be sent to your home library for you to borrow. Requests for items should be made several weeks before they are needed. If you have any questions, please contact us at 814-355-1516.
